Has it been 11 years already?
Almost every Linux desktop user back then who wanted to give a modern look & feel to his/her OS must have stumbled upon this icon suite.

It was developed by Matthieu James, who appears to be from France (?). The latest version of the icon suite is version 1.3.1, which was released back in late 2012.
They were very nice and modern-looking icons back in the day. They suited every Linux desktop and it was the most comprehensive icon suite. Almost everyone loved them.
I am not sure what happened exactly but like many open source software developers, the designer moved on to new things and simply abandoned the project.
Here’s an old picture for it from my desktop in 2013 (back when I was developing Hilal Linux):
For those of you who still want to give it a try, you can download it from this link: https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1012545
Have you used Faenza icons in the old days?
